I bought ‘The Winter People’ in February 2016 and I’ve never gotten around to reading it. When I realised it was celebrating its sixth anniversary on my TBR shelves, I decided it was time to Love It or Leave It. 

I’m only 10% through but the answer is already clear: I’m going to Leave It.

‘The Winter People’ wasn’t the horror book that I’d expected. It was too ‘Anne of Green Gables Talks To Dead People’ for me.

The writing is fine and there’s probably a decent story in there, especially in the 1908 timeline, but I’m already restless and I know myself well enough to be sure this book isn’t going to hold me.
