We’re in that dark and dreary part of the year where daylight disappears too quickly and it can seem that darkness is dominating my day. At this time of year, I’m always grateful when I come across something bright that makes me smile.
That happened to me yesterday as I was pushing through the darkening streets of Bath, focused on finding my bus and heading home. Then I saw how Pultney Bridge has been lit up for the Christamas season and it grabbed all of my attention.
Pultney Bridge is always pretty but I’ve lived in this city for a long time and eventually even pretty things start to go unnoticed. Last night though, the lights on the bridge were impossible to ignore. I loved the way the old stone was lit up, the way the yellow light reflected on the water and even the weir seemed part of the show. I took a picture. It almost captures what I saw and it’s all I have to share, so here it is:
